Last weekend I had the total pleasure of spending three days in the beautiful countryside of Berkshire photographing the 5th annual RAW FEST, of which I have done for two consecutive years now.
RAW FEST is a family focused festival featuring top expert speakers in health, nutrition and healing plus an array of mindful activities such as yoga, meditation, dance and music. All revolving around the best fresh, organic, raw and vegan food ever!
There was every kind of conscious culinary delights you could wish for from delicious cakes, refreshing salads, handmade chocolates and then an impressive selection of either locally grown or exotic fruits for you to eat or turn into fresh smoothies and juices.
The festival was officially opened with a Cacao Ceremony lead by Lisa Fearon of Amor Cacao, bringing the tribe of amazing likeminded beings together and setting the intentions for the weekend ahead.
And what a weekend it was! Overflowing with inspiring and motivational lectures and workshops by experts such as Lia Sokhi, the founder of RAW FEST, Loren Lockman, Alex Walker, Denisa Ratulea and Tracy Sadler to name but a few.
After which you could keep yourself entertained for hours with dance, yoga and painting or by exploring the vast natural wonderland surrounding the festival.
And then there was the music, from family fun drumming to solo performance to impromptu open mic sessions, building up to incredible live performances in the evening by the likes of the Urban Shamans Movement. All rounded off by even more music and storytelling around the fire circle.
As always RAW FEST is so much more than a festival. It is a place for open minded, big-hearted, fun loving people to come together. The kind of people whom I believe are going to lead the way in altering the mind-set of the main stream by demonstrating it is possible to live a conscious, healthy, positive lifestyle, and therefore ensuring a brighter future for the next generation and beyond.
