Lou Maurer of Planet Gong Stands commissioned me to capture new visuals of his hand crafted adjustable timber Gong stands for his website and social media accounts.

The ethos behind Planet Gong Stands is to provide an organic Gong stand that allows the player to ground themselves, intuit and project though the Gong.

This intention is reflected, in par, by the curve of the stand that is made from a selection of timbers such as Oak, Ash, Sapele and Beech which are carefully laminated together. There are 9 laminates in the standard curved arm creating an attractive stripe effect.

The main frame comes in a choice of 3 different coloured timbers; Oak, Ash and Sapele.

The stands are made to be easily adjustable so that the player can be seated at the most comfortable position to play all Gong sizes from 24 inch up to 40 inch.

Lou has designed the stands in such a way that they can be simply and quickly dismantled for ease of transportation.
