Inspired by the month of February in which we celebrate all things L.O.V.E I decided to write a love letter. A love letter intended to be given to a bride on the morning of her wedding day from her insightful wedding photographer …
Dear bride,
I encourage you to surrender to the day ahead and all those who surround you. Trust that you have chosen the best people to take care of you, therefore, allow them to do what they do best.
With this in mind, it is safe to say you can not control the final outcome of today. However, you can control how you perceive it, enjoy it and remember it. So focus on what is important – you and your loved one and remember nothing is perfect.
Let go of any expectations and preconceived ideas of how a wedding day should be. This is your day. Therefore, it should be unique and special – just like you.
It’s time to reap the rewards of all the time, energy and love you have invested in the past and revel in what you have created, on both a material and emotional level. Be proud of all you have achieved.
Don’t hold back your emotions. Share you vulnerability and release your feelings in which ever way you want to at the time. It’s totally OK to be scared, as it is to cry, as well as laugh uncontrollably. I look forward to capturing all three.
Today of all days you deserve to feel like the best version of yourself so don’t allow anyone or anything to dim your light.
Make time through out the day to take a step back and witness what is manifesting right in-front of your eyes. Allow those special moments to etch themselves into your memory so you can savour them forever.
Finally take comfort in the knowledge that you are exactly where you are meant to be right now. Be grateful for everything that has brought you here today and for everything that lays before you on your life journey.
So take a deep breath, roll your shoulders back, smile and allow yourself to shine the brightest you have ever dared to shine before.
You look fabulous!
